I gave serious consideration to the i5 model but at the end of the day I want to be able to draw and ink in photoshop without worrying about pen lag so I went i7. Yes, 8GB RAM is a standard for gaming, but heavy video rendering and Graphical work of at least 16GB is required. I doubt it's a difference the avg user would notice. If you plan to do more than just gaming, consider 32GB. So, if you want enough overhead to keep playing new releases in the future, 16GB of RAM is recommended. I'm a desktop guy so I never paid attention to that stuff, but I'm guessing it's basically the same tech just scaled down a smidge. Red Dead Redemption 2, for example, recommends 12GB of RAM for optimal performance, while Half-Life: Alyx requires 12GB as a minimum. I don't know anything about integrated graphics, no.

My previous machine was 16GB Retina 15 Macbook Pro Mid 2014. 16GB RAM is more than enough with AMD or NVIDIA graphics card because of their added GPU VRAM. 32GB for gaming is for future-proofing your system. But if you stream gameplay, talk on a discord chat and listen to music 32GB makes a difference. I started running a new 8GB Macbook Air base spec I got on a deal- because the difference in upgrading the RAM to 16GB was £380 more.
